20 - Progress on Bright Fantasy and Dark Fantasy
This post should take about 2 minutes to read through.
Pathways hasn't sold as well as I'd have liked, so I'm moving my focus away from the series for now. I will definitely finish the series, I actually worked on the outline for book three a bit more this week, but I'll write another stand-alone after Bright Fantasy WT is done before jumping into it. Specifically, I'll be repurposing some of the work I've done for a dark fantasy LitRPG series and using it for a group of stand-alone fantasy books instead. I'm considering a Bronze Age fantasy instead of a medieval fantasy style, too, for the first one. They'll all be completely independent from each other and I won't market them as a series. They'll have some connections that a dedicated reader will notice, but other than that, they'll be different books with somewhat different settings.
In Bright Fantasy WT news, this week I wrote 2,578 words, and about 10.1% of the outline is completed so far. It didn't feel like my best work, and I'll rewrite some of it next week.
Bright Fantasy LitRPG one-off (working title): running word total is 17,588 words, 10.1% of the outline written. updated
Fantasy LitRPG one-off 1 (working title): also pre-outline stage; I've repurposed most of the magic system and worldbuilding from a dark fantasy series I was considering writing, so a lot of pre-outline work is already done here. I'll start working on the outline soon. updated
Mages' Guild book 3: outline still brewing, and priority bumped down. Pathways hasn't sold that well, which makes sense given that I published it quite a while after the first one. Unfortunately, that means I need to focus on freelancing even more, and the priority of the third book has been reduced in favor of a one-off. If you are eager to read the continuation of Emily's adventures, recommend the books to your friends! updated
Monolith LitRPG series or one-off (working title): pre-outline stage; might get a bump up if I make it into a one-off.
Fantasy Sci-Fi LitRPG series (working title): at pre-outline stage; might repurpose into a group of independent stories like with the old dark fantasy, depending on how that project works out.
Dark Fantasy one-off (non-LitRPG, working title): pre-outline stage; I haven't written non-LitRPG fantasy in a while. I'm looking forward to jumping into this one.
